Who can we help?

 
We offer Clinical Psychology services for children and young people up to the age of 18.  Difficulties can arise for children for various reasons.  For example, moving into a new stage of physical or emotional development, or times of transition and change; for example starting school, moving house etc.  In addition, during times of distress children and young people can present wth a variety of symptoms as a way of communicating this distress.  
 
Below is a list of some of the difficulties with which children may present.  This list is by no means exhaustive of the type of work that we undertake.  Please contact us for further information.
 

 

  • Behaviour Problems
  • Eating/Feeding difficulties (including overeating and food restriction)
  • Toileting
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Anxiety
  • Phobias
  • School anxiety and School Refusal, exam stress
  • Depression
  • Unexplained  Recurring Physical symptoms/Psychosomatic presentations - eg. headaches, stomach aches
  • Difficulties in dealing with adjustment to major life events, eg bereavement, divorce/parental separation
  • Difficulties in dealing with chronic health problems eg. diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, juvenile arthritis
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorder
